In 1800, John McCann built a water–powered grain mill at Beamond, on the east coast of Ireland, setting the stage for a long–time family business: McCann–s Irish Oatmeal. One secret to their superior oats is the humid Irish climate, which promotes slow ripening and therefore fuller, plumper oat grains. Today McCann’s continues this ages–old Irish traditional fare with several varieties of hearty, delicious, heart–healthy Irish oats and oatmeal.
